Learn from Jam Master Ashley Andermann with Grinning Jupiter Jammery in this super sweet class! Learn the differences between Jam, Jelly and Preserves along with solid info on incorporating spices, herbs, hot peppers and even tea into your creations.
Ashley will cover the basics of canning, and you’ll leave with comprehensive info and how-to’s on safety and troubleshooting. Plus, you’ll receive recipes for creating delicious preserves at home. Ashley is a master at making full use of Louisiana’s bounty of berries, vegetables and citrus. She’ll share tips and techniques for creating delicious flavors no matter the season in this jam-packed class!
This is a hands on class. Each student will create and take two jars of jam/jelly. Plus, there will be tastings of treats created with several of Ashley's products.

On the Menu:
Ashley will guide you through creating a sweet & spicy pepper jelly and a sweet jam or fruit butter. Flavors are determined based on what's seasonal, available and abundant. In addition to making and tasting jams and jellies created in class, you'll also much on our favorite Gluten Free Almond Cake, Classic Cream Scones and pepper jelly with cream cheese and crackers.
This class is for participants 16 and up. Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult; both the teenager and accompanying adult must purchase a class seat.
CLASS TRANSFER POLICY: No Refunds. If you are unable to attend this class, you may request a transfer to move your reservation to another class. However these requests must be received seven (7) working days in advance of the class date. If your request is made after seven (7) working days, we will not be able to accommodate your transfer request. You may, however, pass along your place in this class to another person. Planning and staffing takes place well in advance of each cooking class; therefore, we are unable to offer refunds.
