Turmeric - Ground

Turmeric root is in the Ginger family. The flesh is a bright orange and dries to a deep yellow-orange color. A staple in Indian cooking, Turmeric adds the familiar color to curry powders and garam masala. It's a wonderful addition to soups, stews, bean dishes and tomato-based sauces. 

While turmeric's use as a wellness product may be fairly recent news in the U.S., it's been used this way for centuries throughout the world. Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
