Unlike our typical hands-on classes, this How to Use Spices class is a lecture-and-demonstration experience. This class is heavily focused on chef demonstrations and exploratory tastings of spices. How to Use Spices class includes a shorter hands-on component where you'll apply what you've learned. Expect to taste lots of different spice combinations as we explore spice profiles and cooking techniques.

How do I cook with spices? It's the number one question we receive in the shop. Spices are the number one way to change your cooking. This class will help you understand when to choose whole or ground spices and know when to add them during the cooking process. You'll walk away with the how and why of toasting and blooming spices. you'll be guided through an interactive spice blending activity that ends in a delicious snack. A humble pot of lentil soup will be transformed with 1 ingredient.
