This dessert may be simple to put together but it's nothing near simple on the palate. The sweet figs are a perfect alongside the slight tang of the mascarpone. Local honey, gently heated and spiced, serves as the finishing touch on this delicious dessert. Use any leftover spiced honey to sweeten Greek yogurt or your morning oatmeal.

Ingredients:
4 oz Mascarpone cheese
4 oz heavy cream
Fresh Figs, sliced in half
1/2 cup honey
1/4 tsp Korintje cinnamon
1/8 tsp Ground Cardamom
1/8 tsp Ground Allspice
Directions:
In a stand or with a hand-held mixer, beat the mascarpone and heavy cream until you achieve soft peaks, about 3-5 minutes. Set aside. Heat honey over a double boiler of simmering water. Alternately, the honey can be warmed in the microwave. Microwave on medium heat for 15 second increments, stirring after each heating. Do this carefully as honey can quickly burn. Once the honey is liquefied, stir in the cinnamon, cardamom and allspice.
Place a spoonful of the mascarpone/cream mixture into dessert dishes. Top with figs and drizzle with the warm spiced honey. Garnish with mint and serve. Makes 6-8 servings.
