Strawberries with Smoked Black Pepper and Balsamic Vinegar

I know what you’re thinking. Pepper? On strawberries? Trust us. Pepper is the perfect compliment to summer fruits, especially strawberries. The pepper really brings out the sweetness of the strawberries and you can never go wrong with a little smoke, too. Try it with peaches and pineapple, too. Serve on its own or with a spinach salad with goat cheese.

Ingredients:

2 pints strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 Tbl sugar

1/4 tsp Applewood Smoked Salt

1/2 tsp freshly ground Smoked Black Peppercorns

Premium 18 Year Aged Balsamic to drizzle

Directions:

Mix strawberries, sugar, Applewood Smoked Salt and ground Smoked Black Peppercorns in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. Just before serving drizzle Premium 18 Year Aged Balsamic over strawberries.
