Thanks for contacting us. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Nigella sativa, also known as Kalonji, black cumin or black seed, is a flowering plant native to Southwest Asia. Its seeds are small, black and angular with a distinctively nutty flavor and aroma. Nigella sativa seeds are used as a spice in various cuisines and are also valued for their potential health benefits.

Use of Nigella goes back to the Stone Age. Today, it's found in cuisines across the world including Indian, Israeli, Austrian and German cooking. Often confused for caraway, Nigella is smaller and much darker in color. It has more of an intense flavor.
