Come get your hands dirty with Mycocentrics Jordan Gros and create your own home-based, urban foraging opportunity in this Mushroom Bucket Cultivation Class. Perfect for sustainability enthusiasts and mushroom lovers, this hands-on workshop demystifies the cultivation process using food-safe five-gallon buckets.

You'll learn how to choose substrates, add in inoculated spawn and perfectly place your bucket to create a microclimate for fruitful fruiting. Jordan will guide you through the science of mushroom cultivation and why a grey oyster mushroom is a great place to start. By the end of the session, you'll have a new hobby and will head home with your own fully prepped, reusable mushroom bucket - ready to harvest a flush of fresh, gourmet grey oyster mushrooms.

This class includes: food-safe, pre-drilled bucket and lid; pasteurized substrate; inoculated grey oyster mushroom spawn; detailed instructions for bucket placement and mushroom harvesting. This class is held at the home of Red Stick Spice owner Anne Milneck. The class will run rain or shine.

A Red Stick Spice workshop is complete without a delicious meal! Chef Kelli will be on hand, cooking up a delicious meal. Plus, we'll have the full lineup of Mycocentrics Mushroom Extracts available for sampling straight up on in a cool glass of herbal tea.

This class is for participants 13 and up. Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult; both the teenager and accompanying adult must purchase a class seat.

CLASS TRANSFER POLICY: No Refunds. If you are unable to attend this class, you may request a transfer to move your reservation to another class. However these requests must be received seven (7) working days in advance of the class date. If your request is made after seven (7) working days, we will not be able to accommodate your transfer request. You may, however, pass along your place in this class to another person. Planning and staffing takes place well in advance of each cooking class; therefore, we are unable to offer refunds.
