Cubeb Berries, like Timut Peppercorns and Szechuan Peppercorns, get lumped into the peppercorn category because of the heat they deliver when ground. However, none are technically peppercorns! Cubeb Berries are the unripe fruits of a plant in the pepper family. They deliver a pleasantly bitter, pungent taste. It's a little like allspice and black pepper were combined.
Cubeb is also known as Piper and Tailed Pepper. Super fun! Load them up in one of our Peppermills. Makes a great gift!
