Join us in the Teaching Kitchen as we continue our Cook the Book series with the perfect pairing: Red Stick Spice X Red Stick Reads! The purchase price of this class includes a copy of Yesteryear. Participants will pick up their book from Red Stick Reads at 3829 Government St. in Mid City Baton Rouge.

Join Anne along with James & Theresa from Red Stick Reads in the Teaching Kitchen for an exploration of the New York Times Bestseller Yesteryear. Grab a spot and remove the filter from the current internet fame of "tradwife" influencers. This biting, satirical novel explores curated, flawless influencer lifestyles and explores social media fabrication, performative womanhood and survival - both historical and present day. Our discussion will cover the aesthetic, the twists, the truths & lies and that unforgettable ending.

This is a hybrid hands-on cooking class with cooking demo led by our chefs - you’ll spend about 30 minutes cooking then move onto the book discussion. The class includes a full meal and discussion led by James & Theresa of Red Stick Reads. Plus, you'll walk away with a packet full of recipes and a store discount for in store or online shopping.

The $135 class purchase includes a hard copy of the book. Participants can pick up their pre-paid copy of the book at Red Stick Reads prior to the class.

We are unable to make substitutions or exclude ingredients to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, intolerances or avoidances. This class is for participants 13 and up. Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult; both the teenager and accompanying adult must purchase a class seat.

CLASS TRANSFER POLICY: No Refunds. If you are unable to attend this class, you may request a transfer to move your reservation to another class. However these requests must be received seven (7) working days in advance of the class date. If your request is made after seven (7) working days, we will not be able to accommodate your transfer request. You may, however, pass along your place in this class to another person. Planning, food purchases and staffing takes place well in advance of each cooking class; therefore, we are unable to offer refunds.
