Join Anne and Lili for some carnival-time baking and loads of fun. In addition to learning the basics of soft, fluffy King Cake dough, you'll roll out, fill, twist and bake your very own King Cake! You will work with our King Cake Filling for a delicious cinnamon-streusel ribbon inside your King Cake. Or you can mix up a spiced cream cheese filling. The sour cream powdered sugar glaze is a must for creating a balanced flavor profile that isn't overly sweet. All this, and a King Cake baby, too!
While the cakes proof, we will demo the dough-making process along with how you can use the same dough for making Mini King Cake Muffins or cinnamon rolls. The demo will include the technique for braiding adorable mini King Cakes in a muffin tin.
While the King Cakes bake, we will treat you to a lunch of Uncle Pat's Chicken & Sausage Gumbo with Parish Rice and a big Sensation Salad. One your King Cake is cooled, you'll ice, decorate with sugar and take home your Mardi Gras creation!
This is a hands on class. All students receive a store discount.
This class is for participants 13 and up. Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult; both the teenager and accompanying adult must purchase a class seat.
CLASS TRANSFER POLICY: No Refunds. If you are unable to attend this class, you may request a transfer to move your reservation to another class. However these requests must be received seven (7) working days in advance of the class date. If your request is made after seven (7) working days, we will not be able to accommodate your transfer request. You may, however, pass along your place in this class to another person. Planning and staffing takes place well in advance of each cooking class; therefore, we are unable to offer refunds.
