EACH CLASS PURCHASE OF $100 IS FOR A COUPLE/PAIR (2 PEOPLE). THERE WILL BE 4 PAIRS PRESENT FOR A TOTAL OF 8 PEOPLE IN THE TEACHING KITCHEN. EACH PAIR WILL WORK TOGETHER AT A COOKING STATION. ALL STATIONS ARE DISTANCED 6 FEET APART.

Learn from Ashley Andermann with Grinning Jupiter Jammery in this super sweet class! Learn the differences between Jam, Jellies and Preserves along with solid info on incorporating spices, herbs, hot peppers and even tea into your creations.

Ashley will cover the basics of canning, and you’ll leave with comprehensive info and how-to’s on safety and troubleshooting. Plus, you’ll receive recipes for creating delicious preserves at home. Ashley is a master at making full use of Louisiana’s bounty of berries, vegetables and citrus. She’ll share tips and techniques for creating delicious flavors no matter the season in this jam-packed class!

This is a hands on class. Each student will create, taste and take home Pepper Jelly plus a Traditional Jam. Plus, there will be scones with English cream along with cream cheese and crackers for snacking on pepper jelly.

Hands-on cooking classes at Red Stick Spice are structured as "divide and conquer." Each group cooks a different dish on the menu, and those efforts combine to produce a fabulous meal in the end. Comradery and teamwork pair up to produce a delectable spread. Instructors move through the room, helping each group. Instructors also stop and demo multiple teachable moments along the way. 

This class is for participants 16 and up. Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult; both the teenager and accompanying adult must purchase a class seat.

CLASS TRANSFER POLICY: No Refunds. If you are unable to attend this class, you may request a transfer to move your reservation to another class. However these requests must be received seven (7) working days in advance of the class date. If your request is made after seven (7) working days, we will not be able to accommodate your transfer request. You may, however, pass along your place in this class to another person. Planning and staffing takes place well in advance of each cooking class; therefore, we are unable to offer refunds.
