Cayenne pepper is a fiery spice made from dried and ground cayenne chile peppers. With a vibrant red color and intense heat, it adds a bold kick to dishes. Use it to enhance soups, sauces, marinades, and rubs with its spicy flavor and is also believed to have health benefits. Here in Louisiana, we use it in gumbo, jambalaya and just about anywhere to bring the heat.
Cayenne Pepper is made from the Capsicum Chile, a pungent variety of chile. Cayenne is made from grinding both the flesh and the seeds of the chile. It can be quite spicy! A little goes a long way.
