Ancho Chile Powder is made from ground poblano peppers, renamed ancho peppers when they are dried. Anchos are known as the sweetest of all dried peppers and have a rich, raisin-like sweetness. With a mild heat, they have a ranking of 2 on a 10 point heat scale.
