One of my favorite stops at the Red Stick Farmer's Market is at Plantation Pecan to visit with Mr. Buddy. He greets me with a spoonful of pecans. And when it's peach season, Mr. Buddy's tent is a must-stop.
I grabbed up bags of pecans from Mr. Buddy and we went to work on a new pecan pie recipe because this heat has me jonesing for fall and thanksgiving and slice of pecan pie on top of a full belly of turkey. Honest, heat like this hurts my feelings. But I felt a lot better after a slice of this pecan pie. We added Chinese Five Spice plus Szechuan Salt, and oh, wow.
Stop by Mr. Buddy's booth and stock up on pecans. Then make this pie. Trust me, this one is a keeper.
