Join Red Stick Spice owner and chef Anne for a fun evening of olive oil exploration. And it's all for a good cause! Anne's son Clay was diagnosed with severe Crohn's disease in 2016 just as he was heading off to college. Since then, she's worked with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation to build awareness and connections for patients and families.
Her goal? Anne wants the millions of young adults diagnosed with the disease to have access to the resources they need to navigate their disease and live long, full lives. She also knows there are tons of worried moms just like her who need support.
The proceeds from this fun Virtual Tasting will go to Clay's Take Steps Team Dazed & Infused. Like many patients, infusions are how Clay is able to enjoy life and keep his disease in check.
In addition to supporting the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, you're going to have your noggin filled to the brim with olive oil knowledge including the Agrumundo method, the true meaning of "cold press," the difference between "extra virgin" and "virgin" and why bitter is a really good thing!

What you can expect during the Virtual Tasting:
Anne will guide everyone through a quick exercise on locating and understanding bitterness on your palate.
Get the screen shot button ready because we will practice our professional olive oil tasting faces (they're required) as we move into tasting the oils
We will explore Arbequina Olive Oil from California, Texas and Chile. Same olive. Different places. Can you pick up on the differences? Subtle or big? Find out!
You'll cook up a Smoked Olive Oil confit of cherry tomatoes that you'll slather on feta. Fancy word. Simple procedure. Exceptional snack.
Plus, you'll learn why the "where & when" of olive oil production is important to the home cook. You'll leave confident in how to shop for olive oil. (Hint: the best place is Red Stick Spice.)
