Low FODMAP Cooking

Join store owner Anne and staffer Madeline as they explore the world of Low FODMAP cooking.

FODMAPs are a group of compounds found in food, and it's believed that these short-chain carbs and sugar alcohols may contribute to symptoms of gastro-intestinal conditions and diseases like IBS, Crohn's Disease and Colitis Disease. Anne's son was diagnosed with Crohn's, and she is active in her work with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. Robust research into low FODMAP diets is underway to gain greater understanding of how this lifestyle may benefit patients. Many patients currently cite positive results and a move toward remission when adhering to the low FODMAP eating style.

Don't miss this hands-on class where Anne will teach cooking tips to take the guesswork out of low-FODMAP food prep while adding full flavor. You will prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert items with a focus on batch cooking with lunchbox packable leftovers. We will be cooking from The Low-FODMAP Diet for Beginners Cookbook. Cookbook co-author Gabriela Gardner, RDN-AP, LD, CNSC will will conference in to answer questions. (Big thanks to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation for helping to connect us with Gabriela!)
