Join chef instructor Anne in the kitchen for a fun exploration of her South Louisiana roots in this informative hands-on class. Confused about Macque Choux, Couche Couche and cous cous? (Because who isn't?) Anne will clear up all the confusion while she tells her favorite stories of learning to cook from her beloved instructors: her mother, aunts and uncles. She'll break down this incredibly complex cuisine that's formed with very simple techniques that all cooks can master.

Anne will make use of what's available locally from area farms and waters. You'll learn tricks for a perfect roux plus Anne's tips on freezing produce and seafood to take advantage of the summertime bounty and enjoy it all year long.

On the menu:

Classic Roux

Gulf Shrimp Étouffée with Popcorn Rice

Corn Macque Choux

Tarte a la Bouille with Black & Blue Compote
