Kala Namak (Black Salt)


A special type of Indian mineral salt, Kala Namak (Black Salt) is actually greyish-pink in color. This salt has a distinctive mineral and sulfur taste- much like hard boiled eggs. It is commonly used in vegan dishes to add a natural egg flavor. 

Kala Namak is used in Indian chaats, raitas, and chutneys.  It's also used to garnish many Indian snacks.
