Balinese Long Pepper

The Balinese Long Pepper, a secret ingredient in Indian and Asian food for centuries, is making a comeback. Once prized by the ancient Romans, this small pepper was long forgotten about due to the rise in popularity of the peppercorn. The Balinese Long Pepper has a unique, earthy flavor with a spicy kick and a floral hint. With traces of cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg, the Balinese Long Pepper can be used in a variety of dishes.

Grind this long pepper using a peppermill, and use it in any dish that black peppercorns could be used. Season sauces and marinades with the Balinese Long Pepper, or use it in glazes for sweeter dishes.
