Bay Leaf-Ground

Bay Leaves (Laurus nobilis) are the leaves from the Bay Laurel Tree commonly found in the Mediterranean region. This spice is ground from the whole leaf and is used to add a tangy, earthy flavor to recipes.

Ground Bay is found in many Cajun and Creole spice blends including Bayou Lafourche Blend. --almost as often as Bay Leaves are found in a pot of red beans! If capturing the flavor of South Louisiana is your goal, then ground bay is a must for your spice cabinet. Add directly to your simmering recipes like soups, stews, pot roast, gumbos and, of course, red beans!
