Butterfly Pea Flower. All the cool kids are doing it. This fascinating botanical brews up sapphire blue and transforms into vibrant violet when lemon enters the scene. This lemonade is the stuff of instagram feed dreams. And it's beautifully delicious and thirst quenching, too.
1/4 cup Butterfly Pea Flower
Sugar or Simple Syrup (optional)
First, steep the Butterfly Pea Flower: place the Butterfly Pea Flower in the FORLIFE French Press. Fill with boiling water. Steep for 15 minutes and allow to cool completely then chill. The Butterfly Pea Flower will be a dark indigo blue liquid. You can sweeten the Butterfly Pea Flower tea if desired.
To create the Magical Lemonade: Fill the FORLIFE Lucent Pitcher 1/2 with ice. Pour prepared lemonade to fill the pitcher 3/4 full. Slowly pour in the chilled Butterfly Pea Flower tea into the pitcher. As the blue Butterfly Pea Flower tea hits the lemonade, the tea will turn violet. The ice and varying viscosities of the liquid will keep the yellow lemonade and purple Butterfly Pea Flower tea separate.
Alternately, you can prepare the drinks in separate glasses using the same procedure: ice, 3/4 lemonade, 1/4 Butterfly Pea Flower.
