Ingredients:
1/2 cup warm water
1 Tbl active dry yeast
1 stick butter, melted
2 cups milk
1.5 tsp Maldon Salt
2 Tbl Sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
Ingredients for the next day:
2 eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Maple Extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the yeast and water and allow to sit until bubbly-about 5 mins. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, salt and sugar. Combine this mixture with the bloomed yeast. Stir to combine. Stir in the flour until a shaggy dough forms. Cover with plastic wrap and leave on the counter overnight-it will double in size so be sure you choose a large bowl.
The next day, whisk the eggs, extracts and baking soda into the dough. Heat a waffle iron to high and cook the batter until golden brown-about 4 minutes.
