Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg...they're all here, compliments of our Apple Pie Spice--the perfect accompaniment to this hearty, sweet applesauce. We love this delicious dish alongside our Easy Potato Latkes, but it's just as delicious for topping pancakes or waffles.

4 baking apples, (Macintosh, Cortland, Golden Delicious) cored and cut into 1" pieces

4 eating apples, (Honeycrisp, Gala, Pink Lady) cored and cut into 1" pieces

Juice and zest of 1 lemon

1/2 tsp Ground Vanilla Beans

1 stick cinnamon

1 tsp Apple Pie Spice

12 tsp Vanilla Bean Sea Salt

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1/2 cup apple cider

2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Bring all ingredients except vanilla extract to a boil in a 6-qt. saucepan over high heat. Reduce heat to low; cook, covered, until apples have begun to break down, 10-15 minutes. Uncover and cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture has reduced by a third and the sauce is thick and amber-colored, about 1 hour. Stir in vanilla extract and serve warm, or cool completely and refrigerate.
