Smoky, sweet and perfectly spiced, this ham is a must for springtime gatherings. We've blended the familiar flavor of clove along with not-so-traditional warm spices for a flavor twist that will have you craving a midnight sandwich--if there are any leftovers!
Ingredients:
Bone-in, fully-cooked ham, 8-10 lbs
1 jar Spiced Ham Glaze
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Bring the ham to room temperature. Trim any loose skin or fat. Using a knife, create a crosshatch pattern on the skin. Place ham, flat side down, in a roasting pan and add 1 inch water. Roast, loosely covered with foil for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, remove the foil from the ham and rotate it to sit to crosshatch side up in the pan. Coat the ham with the Spiced Ham Glaze, pressing to adhere. If the water in the pan evaporated, add a bit more. Continue baking the ham for another 40 minutes.
You can also simmer Spice Ham Glaze in 1 cup apple juice or apple cider and use as a glaze for the ham. If you use this method, baste the ham with the pan drippings every 20 minutes throughout the baking process.
