The actual name for these bars should be “cherry walnut vanilla sesame oatmeal bars”. However, that’s quite a mouthful. Since these bars are so delicious, you’ll want mouthful after mouthful.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tsp Vietnamese cinnamon
1 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp Pure Bourbon Vanilla Extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 ̊. In a medium bowl stir together oats, walnuts, cherries, sesame seeds, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Mix milk, egg and vanilla together in a large measuring cup or bowl. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix well. Pour into a non- stick sprayed 8x8 pan and bake for 25-30 minutes depending on your oven. Cool completely before cutting. Store in the refrigerator for 2-3 days or individually wrap and freeze.
Note: These bars won’t keep for very long because of the moisture content. But, since they are so delicious, that likely won’t be a problem.
