Mother's Day Gift Guide

My mom is a practical, no nonsense lady. She has great style and a charming wit that I'm constantly trying to match.

I remember wanting her to have something very fancy for Mother's Day-something she would never buy for herself. I talked my dad into purchasing pink fuzzy slippers. To this day, my mom chuckles about my complete glee in gifting the hideous, impractical footwear which she was, of course, obliged to wear for the next several weeks. Oddly, they were somehow misplaced, never to be seen again.

This Mother's Day, skip the slippers. Read on for my Mother's Day Gift Guide-these are my lovely and local picks for mom.

First up, Annie Claire Designs. Annie Claire Bass is one half of the sista-sista power behind SoSis Boutique. I love Annie's style which comes through in all her jewelry designs. These Charlotte Earrings will look great on mom. My two current faves are her LA Stamped Bracelets and all of her stacked bracelets. I'm smitten with the Olive Stack

If you haven't visited our neighbors Mid City Craft Wine & Brew, do yourself a favor and swing by this week and grab something for mom. I'm a big fan of their collection including this natural red blend from France. With less sulfites along with lower sugar and alcohol content, it's a great choice when following the Keto lifestyle (like me.)

Now that you've got the wine, you're going to need a vessel. S. Bynum Art handprinted glasses are my go-to birthday/hostess/housewarming/just because gift. I've even tucked them into stockings (careful now.) Bonus: you get to go into Wanderlust by Abby in Southdowns to grab these beauties. Don't skip this part. A visit to this local gem is a treat all in its own.

Veggies for Mother's Day? Stay with me. CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) memberships are a thoughtful, meaningful way to say, "I love you." I give Luckett Farms CSA memberships to family, friends and employees every season. When you purchase a CSA membership, you show your love for the environment and local farmers. Tack on a promise to help mom out in the kitchen, and you've got yourself the perfect gift.

We love that our friends at The Keeping Room call themselves "A Fine Paperie." In a world where devices have all but taken over, we love a return to beautifully crafted invitations, stationery and notecards. Stop by and visit with Andi and her fantastic staff. They will help you choose something Mom will love.
